I think I could help with this task if you still don't have time for that - I think the suggestion for using fontawesome icons goes inline with the nature of this project. Let me know...

go ahead. i createe a 0.2 branch but there is not much usefulness in there. if you just want to make minor changes make a pr for 0.1 branch. if you want to do some redesign on the server side make a 0.3 proposal your help is very welcome.

for the long term i want to base this project on a plattform independent language project i am currently conceiving but thats just future talk atm

Great. I think it would be good to start with version 0.1 - gradual changes

that way we'll learn the best ways for future redesigns.
