Keep Chromecast going after Player is disposed

I'm basically trying to keep the chromecast going even when the video widget isnt on screen. I'm not disposing the video controller and it still stops when I leave the page.

Not sure if it's relevant but i get this on console everytime I exit the page with the player (with or without chromecast)
