Software challenges in oil & gas - review (chapter 18, Bill Menger)

This chapter sits at 1243 words. Way too long.

It looks interesting, so I will read and review it anyway and add in a separate comment.

BUT: it will need to either be significantly rewritten, split in half, or not included.

After reading the chapter:

really - REALLY - liked it. I think there needs to be room in the book for this article.

My recommendation would be to split it into two chapters. Possibly giving author a chance to review and possibly ensure it is up to date on some of his recommendations (it looks like it was taken from a blog post from 2009).
