oh i'm not quite sure if this is the correct test because it isn't actually working, because it actually fails for me on another test before this

on mac this test just hangs, which is the expected fail behaviour

I think the "merge your own PR" doesn't work in this case. I'm not actively maintaining this repo, and I'm not blocked by this. so I'll just forget and now it needs resolving apparently
