T4Scaffolding doesn't play nice with VS2017 - switch MVCMailer to ASP.NET Scaffolding?

T4Scaffolding has problems in VS2017. Since it's not being maintained anymore and has been replaced with the built-in ASP.NET Scaffolding, might it be possible for MVCMailer to rely completely on that and get rid of the T4Scaffolding dependency altogether?
