Ability to add moving pointer

I would like the ability to be able to move an existing pointer. I'm working on a dashboard to show my remote telescope's current ra/dec position. I'll make a PR shortly to reference this issue. However, I could see this feature being useful for tracking moving objects like comets or satellites as well.
