licenses of some thirdparty projects incomplete or missing
https://github.com/sleuthkit/autopsy/tree/develop/thirdparty/ewfexport_exec
missing libewf license and zlib license also that of vcruntime140.dll
https://github.com/sleuthkit/autopsy/tree/develop/thirdparty/rr-full
missing license of p2x5124.dll
https://github.com/sleuthkit/autopsy/tree/develop/thirdparty/rr
missing license for project and that of p2x5124.dll
And likely many more
It is good that the README.txt indicates that this project contains code with other licenses. However that is not sufficient for some licenses as (L)GPL where a copy of the license needs to be included https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.en.html
And more specifically https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.en.html#UnchangedJustBinary

@joachimmetz, we have addressed the missing licenses you cite in the imminent Autopsy 4.18.0 release. We have created a "story" in our internal issue tracking system (Atlassian Jira) about looking for additional places where licenses are missing and need to be supplied. Thanks!
@rcordovano excellent thanks that is good news. Note that licensing also will apply to binaries distributed outside of an Autopsy release by the Autopsy project(s)
