Are you running on a non windows computer? Try some of the most recent lessons, do they work?

There was a similar bug for Mac OS and it was fixed in a more recent version of Fungi, but lesson 27 is running a much older version of it. Here is the issue fix that was recently submitted, maybe you can apply some version of it to the old version for that lesson to see if it fixes your problems. I only have windows, so I can't test/fix issues on macs or linux machines.
