Present-day thoughts on the .mjs extension?

You tweeted here that you are opposed to the new .mjs extension that is going to be introduced. Do you still have the same thoughts? If so, are you just going to keep using CommonJS? Or are you going to switch over to using the esm package that was recently released by @jdalton? Thanks.
