Firefox Updates Wipe Options

Lately, whenever Firefox updates, it seems to wipe out all of the plugin's option settings, including site tags and site-specific options. This is quite inconvenient, as it tends to lead to the loss of passwords on many sites. Is it possible to do anything to prevent this effect, from the app's side?

I've personally not experienced that settings are getting lost when Firefox updates. I'm using the option to sync settings via Firefox Sync, and I'm using the Firefox beta update channel.

Can you please specify

  • Your Firefox update channel (check in Help > About Firefox)
  • Whether you use Firefox Sync to sync settings (Addon preferences > "Sync Settings"/"Don't Sync Settings")

Release channel and no, respectively. I'm guessing Firefox is wiping your settings locally, but Firefox sync is re-downloading them from the cloud server.
