Description

Currently all payments in a single category are subject to payment or withdrawal. What I'm thinking of would be to assign a specific output to each source of income, so if there is an income with the same name and an output with the same name, it could have a separate benefit portion, not just the aggregate.

Example: I have two different cards and I want to separate the income/expenses from them.

Solution

An extra option where you can name the "account" and then a drop down menu in the income/expenses section where you can select it. Alternatively, duplicate the year and name it separately.

What are alternatives?

I'm afraid that might be out-of-scope for this app :/

Just so that I get this right, you want to be able to have for each year, multiple sets of "data" that, for example, represent bank accounts and be able to view them individually including having what we have right now, a view for each year where all these accounts are merged into one view?

Hello Simon, and thanks for your reply!

Yes, I would like to do something similar in the simplest way. The idea is to be able to link two or more transactions with the same name. For example: there is an account called "sharing" and an account called "prime". the "prime" account receives 1000 EUR per month and the "sharing" account receives 500 EUR per month. At the moment the site can only manage this as one account, but it would be best if you could create an expense group, then and select which account I want to associate it with, and deduct it from the account I select.

Essentially I would like to manage the accounts separately. The only way to do this currently, I assume, is to create a separate user for each account...

I see, this seems to be very much out-of-scope for this app, at least right now. I'll keep the issue open in case there's an opportunity to implement this in an easy and straight-forward way! I'm afraid, as you said, the only work-around for this kind of issue would be multiple accounts :/ Tracking several "accounts" isn't a goal of this app right now...
