Add links to external dictionaries
It'd be really nice if LC had some configuration to allow for linking to external dictionaries. The wiktionary imports work well for the most part for me, but I know many languages don't really have sufficient coverage and external web-based dictionaries can offer a lot of useful etymological information, examples, etc.
I know Lute has a similar feature for their embedded dictionary lookups and if I'm not mistaken I think LingQ has something similar too.
Lute example
I don't think it would be necessary to include any embedded versions of the dictionaries, just a dropdown or list in the word lookup pane to easily open the links in a new tab. The configuration could follow a similar format to Lute where you can select which language, whether the lookup is for a word or sentence, and then the URL for the lookup.
Lute even has a list of Sample Dictionaries that could be used to seed the database for some good defaults.

I was planning on adding links to external dictionaries, but I dont think I want to add embeded ones.
I think instead of dropdowns, they should be just dictionary entries. They could be a new dictionary type, and when a user searches a word, a search result would show up for each external dictionary, and when the user clicks on it, it opens it on a blank page, instead of adding the word to the translation textarea. It should also have an external link icon instead of +.

Wow, this is a very valuable list.

Yeah, embedded gets messy. Not really worth the trouble imo.

That makes sense. I think it might make sense to remove any definition fields though, unless you intend to integrate with any external APIs that exist for the dictionary to grab the definitions.
So maybe like this:
That ways it's a bit more concise in case you want to have several external dictionaries enabled.
Yeah, something like that.
I havent used it for so long i forgot how it looks. :D
