It's not "important", so probably easier to just remove it (like per-device message deletion) and show a plain progress bar so that development efforts can be focused elsewhere.
I have tested the same version and it works on two devices I have tested. One is high end and the other is not.

Can you provide a debuglog after recently encountering this issue with a new message?
