mysqldata volume in CI config?

Why there is the mysqldata volume for CI environment if we use there sqlite? Or maybe I should ask a more general question, do we really need volumes in CI environment?

Maybe this is just a limitation of docker compose configuration file, but I don't understand a little, so could you explain?
