Which browser? In theory the PKGBUILD should include the protocol handlers but I'm not seeing the callback fire in the logs.

Same here, using Linux Mint, fails with Firefox and Chromium. Both browsers ask for desktop app, I am using AppImage, even I unpacked it and created a *.desktop file and put it inside .local/share/applications/, and same. Sometimes it throws The address wasn’t understood.
