@alex--m Can you give a bit more details how it will be used ? AKA how we will benefit from nearest neighbor lookup speedup.
@alex--m Sounds like some cache approximation. Can you please give us a bit more specific what is the follow up patch and how it will be useful for UCX.
Part of the problem is the size of IMM data that is defined by IB standard. As far as I can remember, it is 40bit, which not very useful.
We would have to come up with a generic API that is not limited to 40bits but can leverage underlying HW capacities. Probably user can query (or request) specific IMM...
