[Yelp Place API] Return Both `place_id`s for Place Searches

Open schaferyan opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Since the Yelp Reviews API now only supports the 1st encoded place_id not the second human-readable one, users who have previously only used the second human-readable Place ID type may need to convert it to the first encoded one.

A customer requested we return the encoded place_id in Yelp Place API search responses. This would make it easier for them to convert the IDs they already have, instead of needing to find all of the businesses again with the Yelp Search API.

I'm uncertain whether this is possible, but if we can support this it might also be helpful to other users of the Yelp Reviews API.

Hi @lomse, unfortunately, we don't have an update on this issue at this time. Updates should be visible here. I will also reach out over email to let you know when this is implemented, or provide other significant updates. Thank you so much for your patience.
