Sourcemaps not served

so when I include spec files and let them be handled by karma-typescript-preprocessor, I see that the files contain a reference to the sourcemaps at their bottom. Yet the problem is that the files itself are not served up in karma. I do get web-server warnings like 404: /base/path/to/spec.map

Where are the sourcemaps actually created? Could we setup proxy definitions to point karma to the right location?
