pollstats doesn't work?

I am just following the simple example code provided in the home page, with class WebStats, and incrementing some values. However, no matter what I do, pollstats always shows zero for all values, which is wrong.

0 | 0 | 0 | 0 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 0 | 0 | 0 | 0

I have examined the mmstats file, and I notice that it really changes when I call webstats.status3xx.inc(), so it must be the reader's fault.
