VTT Support?

Any chance there's going to be VTT (WebVTT) support in the future? It's the most used subtitle format right now, It can do just about everything ASS can do aside from follow-along for like karaoke, while being much smaller, & allowing programs that don't support it to essentially treat it like SRT & just loose the colors & line positions & things. It's by far a superior format but it isn't supported by this app. Is there a reason it isn't? Is there any chance of that being added in a future release?
