"Delete all non used clips" function ends up deleting everything even used clips

Open kekoviccc opened this issue 3 years ago • 7 comments

Hi

I don't know if I'm the only one with this problem, but Ditto ends up removing all my clips even used ones when I click on "Delete all non used clips". Used clips are marked by a blue line at the left and they still get deleted too. I've even tried beta versions and it's still the same. Any solution ?

"Delete all non used clips" this will delete all clips that are not

  1. groups
  2. in a group
  3. don't auto delete is checked
  4. has a shortcut set
  5. sticky clip

clips that have been used will be deleted.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is there any way to delete everything BUT used clips ? If not, is there any way to implement it ?

I think that title is miss-leading, although there is warning shown. It sounds like something smart feature... 😂,😥 but got all the clip data deleted, except those in the list...

That's why you should always have backups in place. The developeprs are doing this for free, so let's not blame them for their great software. Hopefully they can make this option happen in the future :)

Saying that something is misleading isn't blaming them, it's simply pointing it out so it can be improved. I agree it sounds like the menu entry "Delete all non used clips" seems misleading in this case, as it appears that's not really what it's doing. I love Ditto and have become dependent on it, but like any software it can always be improved, and the wording here seems like such a case.
