Rectangle cannot find iTerm hotkey floating windows
- [ yes] This is a new bug that hasn't been documented in a closed issue or in the Readme.
macOS version: Monterey 12.3.1 Rectangle version:2.4(111) pro Logs if applicable (In Rectangle menu, hold option, "View Logging..."): Not applicable because rectangle failed to obtain window.
As per title, rectangle log would have shown Obtained window from window number under cursor for normal windows. But for iterm hotkey windows, this log will never show up.
The consequence is, obviously, hotkey windows will not be resized by shortcuts. Sometimes the shortcut is passed through to another application window focused before, or sometimes nothing happens. However, the window throw feature triggered by ctrl + cmd works fine. If I disable the Floating window option, it also works fine.
Steps to reproduce:
- Close all pre-existing iterm windows
- Create/edit an iterm profile by
Preferences->Profiles->(Select a profile)->Keys->(check A hotkey opens a dedicated window)->assign a hotkey->(Check Floating window) - Create a new iterm window by pressing the assigned hotkey.
- The new window does not respond to rectangle shortcuts.
I do not have this problem in another app magnet and I have ensured magnet was closed when found the problem.
Thanks for reporting. I believe this should be already fixed in my current build that I haven't released yet, but I'll give it a quick test before release and make sure.
