Keyboard shortcuts for window management don't work on launch when the menu bar icon is hidden
Hi. I often need to manually start Multitouch manually one time after my Mac have been to sleep. The "Restart on wake" option is selected.
Before macOS Sequoia this wasn't a problem at all.
Known issue?
Thanks for letting me know. Would you mind providing your configuration? You can copy it to the clipboard from the About window or from Help > Debug > Copy debug info to clipboard in the menu bar menu.
Actually, it is only the window management shortcuts that don't work after sleep. Trackpad configuration and keyboard shortcuts works as expected.
Here is my window management settings:
Here is the debug info:
Multitouch: 1.27.41 (196)
macOS: Version 15.0.1 (Build 24A348)
Model: Mac14,5
Devices: ["internalTrackpad2:504403158265495597:45"]
Multitouch Configuration: [{"gid":{"gesture":"threeClick","appId":""},"r":{"type":3,"action":300}},{"gid":{"appId":"","gesture":"oneForce"},"r":{"action":1504,"type":15}}]
Thanks, that should be easier to narrow down then. I'll see what I can do.
I'm pretty sure this only happens when the Show menu bar icon isn't ticked. I don't want the menu bar icon to be shown. I want a clean menu bar :)
Sorry for the delay. I made some adjustments to hopefully fix this in the latest version. https://multitouch.app/downloads/multitouch1.27.42.dmg
This is an issue on the macOS side, and it's surprisingly not simple to figure out a good workaround. Let me know how 1.27.42 goes.
I have to dissapoint you. I've tested it a couple of weeks now. The problem still exist when menu bar icon is hidden.

Same for me.
If you add back in the menu bar icon, and then remove it by holding command and dragging it off the menu bar, do you still have this issue?

I'll try it out and update you :)
Locking the screen again and unlocking it after did resolve the issue. Strange behavior
@tlfzhylj Can you try what I did? For me this is working all the time when locking screen again and unlock.
I'll try that, @pictosun
Just to be sure, you mean when the icon is hidden through that Show menu bar icon isn't ticked and when the keyboard shortcuts for window management ain't working, you just lock you mac and unlock it againt, and then it's working as normal?
, and then it's working as normal?
Correct!
I'll give this another look for the next Multitouch release as well.
Just wanted to let you know that I experience the same as @pictosun, regarding locking and unlocking. If the keyboard shortcuts don't work, when icon is hidden, locking and unlocking solves the issue.
Opening the Multitouch app from the launchpad also works.
Good to know, thanks. Will see what I can do!
Any update? When can we see an updated version? We're all paying money for Multitouch ;-)
Would you mind trying 1.27.43 to see if there is any difference? It might still take some further adjustments to fix this one.

I've updated and will let it run for a couple of weeks. I'll update you. Thanks!
@rxhanson, sorry, same issue. Locking/unlocking macOS solves it as before.
Thanks for the update! This boils down to a macOS glitch, but I'm confident that I'll be able to find a workaround. I'll post back when I have another version ready.
For me the same. lock/unlock does still solve it.
Thanks for the quick test! This is a surprisingly difficult problem to solve. Mind trying this one?

I'll test and will come back with an update.
@rxhanson, sorry, same issue with 1.27.45 also. Locking/unlocking solves it.
Hi there, I just started using MT. Issue still present when icon not present in bar and resuming to work from sleep. The quick fix suggested does work though! Thanks for that @tlfzhylj
I've started taking a look at this one again. Would anyone mind trying this one out, and letting me know if it fixes the issue?

Thank you, will do.

Problem still exists in version 1.31
