Universal Control between two Macs
When using one computer to control another computer through Universal Control (Multitouch is installed and set up on both computers), Multitouch does not work.
Currently I only have configuration of using three finger taps and clicks for the middle click, and I can confirm that these settings work locally, but they don't work when using Universal Control to control another computer.
Another issue that I have with Universal Control and Multitouch is that if "Avoid private framework" is enabled (which is the default value), there will be some problems operating Mac controlled with Universal Control:
- Cursor movement is laggy
- Two-finger scroll is laggy (I didn't define any two-finger gesture in Multitouch app, instead I use the one built-in to the OS)
- Click (mouse left click) operation is not always responsive, some app (like the Multitouch app itself) is completely inoperable
These issues only occur when using Universal Control to operate another Mac.
Sorry for the delayed response. Unfortunately, Apple would need to update Universal Control to allow 3rd party usage of the touch information. It seems logical that they would allow this in a future update, though, at which point I will update Multitouch as necessary.
I'm assuming that if "Avoid private framework" is unchecked, then there is no lag? This also points to some work needed on Apple's side, unfortunately. Either that, or it exposes another scenario where for some users the private framework just happens to work better.
