Example of the Identity email APIs

In the newest Identity alphas from the last week or so have included Email in the IdentityUser along with several email based methods like FindByEmailAysnc. I would love to see these newer features integrated in with the example or briefly explained. It is common for sites to use an email address as a login instead of a username. I know I can disable alphanumerics only on the username and assign the email to the username, but curious if there is a smarter way to do this or a built in option.
