update rust edition?

Is it relevant (yet) to update the targeted rust edition (from 2018)? If yes, should that be 2024?

It would be good to update the edition. The 2024 edition is still several releases from being ready.

Looks like the 2024 edition is stable now. Are there any significant changes that will need to be reflected in this book, or will it be mostly updating references, package versions, etc?

May or may not find the motivation to update it since my head is currently in the book... But would be good to define the scope regardless.

The 2024 edition shouldn't have any impact on the book content. It should just be a code upgrade.
