keep news file up to date

just noticed a new cran version. nice work. though can you keep your news file up to date? it's pretty essential to let users know what's changed

Thanks for flagging this because it is something I should have seen. This submission was a bug-fix requested by CRAN because the \dontrun code in a help file wasn't working on their server (one of the publishers has changed their website, so it was a legit bug).

I should have updated it and left a note up here; with the job change, continent move, baby, and the pandemic it was a stretch to get everything done in the very short time frame CRAN gave me (they ignored a request for an extension). It was scatter-brained of me; thanks for catching it. Daniel and I are chatting about a hack-a-thon, I'll go through the NEWS file then (or perhaps this weekend).

don't stress about it, not really that important, just pinging folks to get it into their muscle memory for pkg development :)
