Issue with USB-C -> HDMI (DisplayPort)

The kernel identifies this setup as a displayport. When testing from a pinebook pro rk3399 using a usb-c -> HDMI adapter, the display connected to HDMI "smears" when the mouse cursor moves. The cursor also flickers whenever the external display is connected. These issues did not exist when testing a much older version of the kernel. Perhaps it's related to the VOP?
