simplify build process

i tried to build the project, that told me i needed sass and ruby, the ruby install wanted to install a bunch of unix stuff....

i think this is a bit much , can the app be built without installing a whole gnu toolkit ?

i use Angular CLI and it uses a few node bits and i do not have to install all that other ruby stuff.

You shouldn't need much - if you get the 2.0 tag then it will be just LESS you need.

Definitely not the GNU Toolkit for master - just python and pip - but master is really an old dev branch for now.
