“Top screen only” option for airplay, only shows top screen.

The new option to only show top screen on air play device, causes bottom screen to not show for me at all and just gives the “this game is on airplay display” message. This only occurs when a controller is attached, feature works fine if no controller is attached. (ps5 controller)

I’m also running into this same issue with the same AirPlay message. I’m also on using an iPhone 13 Pro Max but I’m on iOS 17.3.1 and using a backbone controller.

I believe this is by design? If you untick the options both screens will display on the AirPlay device. No screens will ever appear on the iPhone during AirPlay.

people who play Mario Kart DS and don't want to see the map screen are the use case.

Sir... it's the Nintendo DS (Dual Screen)... this is the most single brain cell response I've ever seen... Also tapping on the screen still works for the bottom touch screen, so touch inputs are still passing through, but you can't see what you are actually pressing, indicating that either this is the dumbest feature ever and is buggy for still letting touch input through, or it's bugged out and not displaying the bottom screen like it should... either way it's bugged...

I have this same issue as well, the bottom screen just doesn't work when on airplay and I lose most functionality on games. Im using an iPhone 13 mini on iOS 16.7.2

Hello! So I think I know why it isn’t working. I was having the same issue since I had saw video on it and wasn’t aware of the feature and went to go try it myself to find my bottom screen wasn’t showing on my phone but then relooked at the video and saw he was using the original skin for the ds so I set mine back to default and it worked. I tried using 3 other skin and nothing has worked but the default so I’m thinking it’s an issue with the skin itself. Which sucks since the default kinda sucks
