Directory .vscode is still created

In 2020 I left a review sayin that I can't use this extension because it creates a .vscode directory. Then in 2021 you replied that v2.2.0 has the disableCache option. So I though I give the extension another try but even with that option turned on it still creates the .vscode directory. Also, "Go to definition" still doesn't work.
