Training images with uppercase extensions aren't recognised

I uploaded a ZIP file containing images named IMG_6003.JPG etc, which is the default file name from an iPhone. All the images were in the root of the ZIP. I got the error:

No images found in the instance data root.

Renaming all the images to use the lower case extension .jpg made it work.
