Entering date manually in custom date-fns date picker with format

Steps to reproduce
- Open minimal reproducible example
- Enter date manually character by character i.e. "04/17/2024"
- When entering the first 2 of 2024 the bug occurs
What is expected?
The date should be 04/17/2024
What is actually happening?
The date is 04/17/0002. If I continue to type 2024 it becomes 0002024.
