Feature request: Auto switch profile
Hopefully rNeomy is still active, keeping an eye on his/her (this) repository, and appreciates this idea.
It would be wonderful if Extension Manager with Profiles (aka addon manager?) could be configured to automatically switch profiles based upon environmental variables. For example at extension launch if the PC hostname (in windows: %COMPUTERNAME%) matches X load profile Y. This would allow users a relatively simple means of creating extension profiles specific for individual computers. A VERY useful option for anyone using Chrome (or whatever browser applies) on multiple computers many with fairly significant hardware/software differences from each other. Assuming there are no permission related complications, IE the user gets prompted by "this extension needs your permission to control your mind" type warning, and the Chrome interpreter supports extensions peeking environment variables, those variables would probably cover just about everything anyone would want to associate with any particular profile.
Expanding upon that, again assuming no permission and/or interpreter capability issues, the options for comparison could also support peeking the registry, pulling whatever value given a specific key.
And if I can keep pushing, (with or without registry peeking) comparison operators could be broadened beyond simple string comparison to "string begins with", ends with, contains, etc. Perhaps a check-box, or additional operator choices, that enable/disable matching case. Even further, add numerical-specific comparison operators like less than, greater than, less-than or equals, etc.
Anyways, thanks for this great extension! And if whoever sees this in time for it to be appropriate, I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!
