Retirement of maptools

Hello,

I am assisting in developing a package that depends on maptools (specifically the sunriset method). Loading the package displayed a warning about impending deprecation of the package, and pointed to this blog: https://r-spatial.org/r/2023/05/15/evolution4.html However it's not clear where (if anywhere) those functions have been rehomed. Is someone able to provide some guidance? I'm happy to contribute with pull requests if that's helpful.
