DOC: Menu on docs website uninteractable on mobile.

Open JHonaker opened this issue 4 months ago • 6 comments

Issue with current documentation:

On any page on the main PyMC.io docs site, the main header and hamburger menu are non-responsive on mobile (Safari on iOS, iPhone 15 Plus Max). This makes it impossible to navigate the site through anything but intra-text hyperlinks and search engine results. It’s been this way for at least a month. Probably longer, but I’ve only been actively trying to peruse the examples on my phone in the evenings since I set up a new project at work.

I attempted to find another reference to this problem on the Issues, but I was unable to find any other reports.

Idea or request for content:

Hi everyone! 👋

I’m excited about contributing to PyMC and this issue seems like a great starting for me. I have some experience with frontend web development and am eager to help improve the docs of website’s mobile usability on mobile.

Could I please work on this issue? If there are any specific guidelines or suggestions on reproducing/debugging the menu problem, I’d appreciate your advice before I begin.

Thanks so much, I’m looking forward to making my first contribution!

Hi @immortal71 , there is no assigning of issues. Just start a PR and link this issue to let other know you are working on it. Add a PR even if it is a draft!

@williambdean could you please take a look? There’s a lot going on in my head right now--some parts I understand, some I’m still unsure about. I’d appreciate it if you could review the PR, and I’ll make any required changes. Also, could you guide me a bit through this process? I’m still getting used to how things work no idea when i will get fully tho !!
