Suggestion - Vertical tabs.

Vertical positioning of open dilagues is much more comfortable. Example: https://trillian.im/whatsnew/6/tricia-mcmillan.png

I've checked plugins, and only Extended Option allows to place them in bottom, but not in left or right.
