Feature: New User onboarding

Current behavior

Currently there's no real onboarding. User's just sign up and go straight to the app.

Suggested solution

It would be great to have an onboarding flow for new users.

An example of a simple onboarding flow

  • User signs up
  • App asks user for financial goals
  • App asks user to connect at least 1 account
  • App routes user to Dashboard

**TO DO **

  • [ ] Simple mock up onboarding flow
  • [ ] Determine what updates might be required to schema/back end
  • [ ] Create/Update API Routes
  • [ ] Develop front end

Should onboarding also ask for categories user wants to track?

We worked on something for this on #124 . The plan was to integrate it, but didnt get time to do it.

I've begun implementing in the branch 124-onboarding-process-for-integrations

I'm drawing inspiration from Papermark effective approach, which you can review here: Building a Beautiful Product Onboarding with Next.js, Framer Motion, and Tailwind CSS.

Is this something you want to have a look at @shouryan01 ?

@akinwol cleaning up the ui, people had suggestions so was trying out modals, there's this blur effect that was requested but I'm not sure how to implement it, there are comments in the pr that was opened
