Can we get a groups.io chat group started? It would be more convenient for sharing info that doesn't belong on GitHub.

yeah, no.
Slack is making me jump through too many hoops to join. It doesn't like my email address. [email protected] http://ee.net/ or [email protected] http://upr.edu/. addresses are required.
Not interested in joining via Google or Apple.
If you want this to catch on it should be more public. At least non-members can read group.io http://group.io/ posts and decide if they want to join.
Don't know what I am getting into here.
