Add lightbox plugin for easier access to big images

Currently, in order to view large images, they are are opened in new window. To avoid this usability problem, we can look into Lightbox plugins that are lightweight and have permissive license.

Sounds useful. Plus if it works in a meaningful way on phones.

@gohai Here are the options that I've found to be OK:

  • http://dimsemenov.com/plugins/magnific-popup/ MIT license, lots of users, works reasonably well
  • http://photoswipe.com/ by the same author, MIT license but needs the image dimensions to be known before displaying the lightbox
  • https://github.com/imgix/luminous (BSD-2 Clause license)
  • https://github.com/andreknieriem/simplelightbox (MIT license)
  • https://lokeshdhakar.com/projects/lightbox2/ (MIT license)

If you're familiar with some good examples of such scripts, please let me know what requirements we should have for a lightbox-like plugin.

Thanks!

Hi Maks,

Thanks for looking at the different options. You should pick what you think is the right option. (I was looking to see if I can find some super minimal solution for Hugo, such as this Pure CSS one, but I wasn't quite successful.)

Best
