Some text on the p5.js Editor “About” page is not translated

Open yugalkaushik opened this issue 11 months ago • 13 comments

p5.js version

2.0.1

What is your operating system?

Windows

Web browser and version

Chrome Version 136.0.7103.93

Actual Behavior

When viewing the “About” page of the p5.js Editor in a non-English language (e.g., Spanish), some sections still display text in English. This includes the introductory paragraph and various descriptions under sections like “Get Involved” and “Resources,” which remain untranslated even though the rest of the UI is localized.

Expected Behavior

All static text on the “About” page should be fully translated and displayed in the selected language, ensuring a consistent and complete user experience across all supported locales.

Steps to reproduce

Steps:

  1. Open a sketch in the web editor.
  2. Select the language other than english.
  3. Go to Help section and click on About.

Hi! I'd like to work on this issue. Please assign it to me if it's still available. 🙌

Hi @Subham-KRLX! This issue is still open since there's a few languages left to translate.

As noted above, please make sure to check out the translation guide first to get a sense on how to approach translations! Another thing to keep in mind as you work on this issue is that we are currently not accepting machine translations, and would prefer translations from contributors who speak the language natively or fluently.

Hi @raclim and team! 👋
I’d like to work on translating the missing text on the About page into **[Hindi], following the guidelines. Please assign me if it’s still open—thanks!

@Subham-KRLX You can work on it even if it's not assigned to you, as someone working on a different language can contribute as well.

Hi @yugalkaushik,

Thank you for your guidance. I've submitted a pull request addressing the missing translations on the "About" page. Looking forward to your feedback.

Hi @raclim I would love to add translations for a bunch of Indian languages. Can the issue be assigned to me. Thank you.

@meher745 You can directly work on this issue without this issue assigned to you. Please go through the translation guide before contribution.

Hello team,

I will also review this issue for the Spanish translations, should that not already be being handled by someone. I wanted to provide a heads-up.
