You can make a list of species only in a single geographic area (it will not combine subdivisions). The task is 'Basic endemism'
No, only one geographic area at the moment. Matt was working on new OTU filter interface, it should provide propagating functionality.
I would also add an option to combine few poligons in a single shape.

May be an OCR text with hiperlinks on the name cold be useful.
I just checked in my project. Worked as as expected, after adding the citation, the number of records in the filter get reduced
