Gaps not changing from default '2' on extension config dialog

Open wattahay opened this issue 5 years ago • 2 comments

(1) Issue/Bug Description:

  • Gap settings in the extension config (via Gnome Tweaks) does not change from '2'

(2) Steps to reproduce (if you know):

  1. Install the pop-os-shell extension on Fedora 33 via Gnome Extensions webpage
  2. Install Gnome Tweaks
  3. Open Gnome Tweaks and go to "Extensions"
  4. For the Pop OS Shell extension, click the config gear icon
  5. Change the Gap settings at the bottom of the dialog to something other than '2'
  6. Close the config dialog and enter into it again

Result: The gap setting in the extension config dialog remains set to '2' Result: The gaps on-screen remain unchanged.

(3) Expected behavior:

  • Gaps change in extension config after re-opening
  • Gaps change onscreen after setting gaps in extension config

(4) Distribution (run cat /etc/os-release):

  • Fedora 33
  • Wayland

(5) Gnome Shell version:

  • 3.38.1-3
  • Wayland

(6) Pop Shell version (run apt policy pop-shell or provide the latest commit if building locally):

(7) Where was Pop Shell installed from: Gnome Extensions webpage

(8) Monitor Setup (2 x 1080p, 4K, Primary(Horizontal), Secondary(Vertical), etc): single 1080p monitor

(9) Other Installed/Enabled Extensions:

(10) Other Notes:

I seem to remember this working when I first installed it. Perhaps it was on X, not Wayland.

This is quite an old issue, but I just experienced the same after a first install tonight. I was finally able to resolve it by hitting return within the dialog box after entering the gap numbers. Hope this helps others looking for solution as well.

Also just ran into this...

Surprising 1.5 years can go by and a simple "Save" button hasn't been added to the settings panel for the entire project.

EDIT: or at least as fields are modified the settings saved. Most others seem to be applied instantly, except the gaps.
