Incorrect auto-tiling

Open krshrimali opened this issue 3 years ago • 2 comments

(1) Issue/Bug Description/Ways to reproduce:

  • Opened a few windows, including: gnome-terminal, slack, google-chrome.
  • Just when I minimized one of the terminals, the auto-tiling doesn't fix the layout.

Please see the screenshot below:

Personal project window here, sorry, can't share this one

It's not just me, that I can confirm, have seen it happening with one of my friends. Can you please help? Please let me know if any log is required.

(3) Expected behavior:

Auto-tiling should fix the layout after minimizing the window.

(4) Distribution (run cat /etc/os-release):

NAME="Pop!_OS"
VERSION="22.04 LTS"
ID=pop
ID_LIKE="ubuntu debian"

(5) Gnome Shell version:

42.1

(6) Pop Shell version (run apt policy pop-shell or provide the latest commit if building locally):

pop-shell:
  Installed: 1.1.0~1654621639~22.04~b299641
  Candidate: 1.1.0~1654621639~22.04~b299641
  Version table:
 *** 1.1.0~1654621639~22.04~b299641 1001
       1001 http://apt.pop-os.org/release jammy/main amd64 Packages

        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

(7) Where was Pop Shell installed from:

It came with the Pop OS 22.04 ISO, I updated it on my system using sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade

(8) Monitor Setup (2 x 1080p, 4K, Primary(Horizontal), Secondary(Vertical), etc):

1 Monitor: 4K (primary, horizontal) 1 Monitor: 1080p (secondary, vertical)

Note: I also face this issue on my laptop, without using any monitors. So shouldn't be an issue with using multiple monitors, I hope.

(9) Other Installed/Enabled Extensions:

Extensions enabled:

Cosmic Dock
Cosmic Workspaces
Cosmic X11 Gestures
Desktop Icons NG (DING)
Pop COSMIC
Pop Shell
System76 Power
Ubuntu AppIndicators

(10) Other Notes:

I'll appreciate any help on this, this is the only issue I face regularly with pop-shell. Thanks!

“I had the same problem, I disabled Desktop Icons NG and the problem was solved.”
