Lag on high speed on YouTube

When a video is played at say 5-8x speed on YouTube, the video tends to play a bit slower than it should, then rapidly speed up briefly or skip ahead by a few seconds, to realign with the video (I am on Edge; tried reinstalling but no fix). The video is already buffered, so that is not the issue.

Interesting issue. I've tried playing around for the last few days to see if I can reproduce it, but no bite.

  1. It probably won't help, but does turning on "Ghost mode" in the options page fix the issue?
  2. Does it also happen with other speed control extensions?
