Button with method "update" does not work as intended

There is a bug with buttons using "method":"update". The bug is present in your documentation for use of buttons:

The title and traces are supposed to be updated when you press different buttons, but nothing happens (apart from the annotations, they are updated).

Thank you for reporting this, @vegraux . @LiamConnors can you please take a look and see what might be causing this bug in the update-button section.

The figure is actually updated as expected when I use chrome / safari on my iphone. However, the bug is present on Chrome/ Egde on my computer
