sizemin, sizemax, sizeref, sizemod lack '_' (underscore)

All of them lack underscore: https://plot.ly/javascript/reference/#scatter-marker-sizemin should be 'size_min' https://plot.ly/javascript/reference/#scatter-marker-sizemax - 'size_max' https://plot.ly/javascript/reference/#scatter-marker-sizeref - 'size_ref' https://plot.ly/javascript/reference/#scatter-marker-sizemode - 'size_mode'

I'm not sure I follow what you're saying here... These attributes don't have an underscore, and so the documentation is correct in this case.

That does sound strange... can you provide some code examples of things not working without underscores and working with them?
