Expose 3D functionality in Plex for Kodi

When using the 3D MVC Kodi build by the amazing @afedchin, Kodi Windows Dev, you cannot select the 3D playback method when 3D playback is initialised. It brings up a Kodi on screen display that I can't select to pick the 3D mode type, presumably because the add-on is taking over input of the input method. Can provide a log if needed.

I've attach an image below so you can understand what my issue is.

Can pick option in Kodi, works great. Cannot pick option in same Kodi but in Plex for Kodi add-on.

I suggest the following to remedy.

• Attempt to find a creative solution to allow us to pick the mode on the screen that comes up i.e. allow me navigate to pick a mode and to press enter to activate it.

• Expose the 3D mode functionality within the on screen display seekbar so that we can easily select a 3D mode.

I'm well aware this sounds like a demand and I'm very sorry for that; it is not my intent. I'm aware this is an edge case, borderline crazy request enhancement but thought if any client can make this dream happen for me, it's this brilliant add-on. Thanks Keith and @ruuk for all the work you've done thus far, keep it up. I truly believe this can be the best Plex client out of them all, with some work. I am eternally grateful for your work so far. 👍

if you see this dialog to select stereo mode it means that Kodi detects that a movie is stereoscopic. try with another skin.

@afedchin This is the official Plex for Kodi addon. I can't use another skin.

This is something the addon creator @ruuk would need to investigate as the skin takes over control and I'm unable to select one of the options.

In the default Estuary, it works but that defeats the purpose. :)

Are you saying that the dialog works fine in other builds?

I think @danjames92 means it works in Estuary, outside of Plex for Kodi add-on, but doesn't work inside of the add-on itself. As @afedchin said, since we're grabbing the focus with Plex for Kodi, it doesn't allow him to select any of the modes in the dialog..

Keith's explanation is correct.

The two screenshots are from the same build of Kodi. As you can see in the 2nd screenshot, the focus is taken away from the Kodi menu that pops up to select the mode as there should be a blue highlight bar allowing me to select an option. This focus is removed when using the Plex for Kodi add-on.

@danjames92: Good news for the cause of issues-with-a-Kodi-fork-that's-not-going-to-be-merged-upstream :smile: I've been able to duplicate the issue in official Kodi with an .mkv file that has the stereomode set in it's stream info.

If it makes you feel better about working on my rare edge case, it's also an issue on a LibreELEC Pi 3, a device that provides full resolution MVC 3D playback. That's merged code, V17 and has the issue. What more incentive. ;)

I tried to play the latest Marvel in 3D today but couldn't due to this bug, has anyone had any luck fixing it?

It's kind of a hack (you'll notice the options in the dialog don't highlight properly) but it should work and allow you to select the mode.
