I tried to use lineid_plot to put annotations to a time-series with dates on the x-axis. Unfortunately this caused an error:

TypeError: Cannot cast array data from dtype('O') to dtype('float64') according to the rule 'safe'

Can this be easily solved?

I am sorry this has caused you trouble. The code was written many years ago and as fas as I can tell only elementary data types work and if anything else works it must be incidental.

Are you able to (in terms of time and expertise) look into the code to figure our if anything can be done? I am asking this with a fair bit of embarrassment, as it has been a while since I looked into the code and I don't know when/if I will get time to look into this.

Hello @phn

Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, my expertise is limited. Together with a colleague we figured out that the differences in the function def adjust_boxes causes the problem with the dates. Using matplotlib.dates.date2num might help somehow, but so far we were not able to make it working.

Thank you for taking time, with your colleague to at least do some diagnosis on the issue.

I am not sure when I will get time to look into this issue as I am involved with too many other activities.
