`y` and `p` in Firefox

When I try to use the y and p commands in Firefox, I get the following message:

Copying and Pasting in Goolge Docs: These actions are unavailable using the Edit menus, but you can still use: ⌘C, ⌘X, ⌘V

Is there any way to fix this in non-chromium browsers? Perhaps implementing the suggested keybinds as opposed to using the menus?

No idea how to fix it for FF, but if you're OK with Chrome too, this is how I solved it:
